Make A Gingerbread House

By Beth Ogden

The construction of a gingerbread house is a fun family activity that results in a nice display piece that doubles as a delicious snack. Simply Recipes has a gingerbread house guide adapted from the 1996 Joy of Cooking book. Before you begin, keep in mind that the gingerbread dough should chill in the refrigerator overnight, though you can make it up to three days in advance. Also, in addition to the main ingredients listed in the recipe, you'll also want a mix of candies to decorate the house with, so don't forget those on your trip to the grocery store.

If you don't have the time or ingredients to make gingerbread dough, you can still make a gingerbread house. Just make sure you have some graham crackers, frosting (or make your own), and candies for decoration.
