Downhill Skiing / Snowboarding In The Catskills

By Brianna Schmitz

Living in the Catskills comes with the guarantee that you will experience beautiful snowy winters. That large amount of snow leads to high quality skiing and snowboarding. In our area we are lucky to have several options for hitting the slopes.

Hunter Mountain

64 Klein Ave, Hunter, NY

Offering 12 lifts and over 240 acres they are a Catskill favorite. They also offer tubing plus year round use of North America’s longest and highest zip line.

Belleayre Mountain

181 Galli Curci Rd, Highmount, NY

Offering 8 lifts and 4 lodges with 50 trails. They have been one of the top NYS ski destinations since they started in 1949. They were the first in NY to have a chair lift. Gondola and several locations to eat.

Plattekill Ski Mountain

469 Plattekill Mtn Rd, Roxbury, NY

Supporting a family atmosphere and a laid back style. They are family owned and operated. Featuring 38 different trails, some topping out at over 1,000 ft vertically. Lots of parking and a rustic style lodge. Also offers snowshoeing and tubing.

Windham Mountain

19 Resort Drive, Windham, NY

Known for its top notch skiing where you can choose between 54 trails and 285 acres. They also have a lovely inn and spa. They’ve finished out their resort with an adventure park (snow tubing, ice skating rink, and kids’ snowmobiles). Well maintained slopes and a great lodge with food/drinks.

Enjoy the slopes!
